L1 Visa requirements: telework abroad in the branch abroad

For my case:

The company is both in Italy and US for 20 years.

I want to work in the US for this company.
To apply for a L1 visa, I have to work at least 1 year for the Italian branch.

Is it possible to work for the Italian branch during one year, from my home in Spain (teleworking) ?
