L1B Visa Application for Remote Workers

Hello All,

I have been working for a US based company for the past 1.2 years. The company is reasonably sized, but I'm the one who developed some of the very core modules in their product offering. I believe I do have specialised skills that could qualify me for a L1B. My question is, I have been working remotely from India and can this be valid situation for L1B application ?

The company does not have a registered office in India.

L1 B is to "transfer a professional employee with specialized knowledge relating to the organization’s interests from one of its affiliated foreign offices to one of its offices in the United States." How will you meet this criteria? H1 seems to be route that needs to be taken.
