L1B to L1A after 2.5 Years of stay in US

Hello All,

I came to US on Dec 2013 in L1B visa, My I97 is valid till Dec 2016. I am processing my GC now, would like to understand if I can file for L1A now as I got promoted to Managerial level (since Dec 2014). I still continue to work with the same client and location. I have managed team back in india for previous client so help me out with the suggestion...
