L1 - H1...L2 status?

Hello Brainies...

I have an embarassment of riches & it has a potential to turn into a problem..

i recently got my L1 blanket visa stamped..Now my company wants to file H1B
for me...My wife has a visa appointment shortly to get L2 visa...

Now my questions..

1.If my H1b petition is approved can i change my status from L1 to H1 without coming to india?
2.If my wife comes to US on L2,does she have to change her status to H4(after my status changes) or whether she can continue on L2...

Hi

Your can apply for H1 being is US,and the L1 will convert to H1.....for this you no need to comeback to india...If your H1 is applying in shorttime better ask your wife to cancel appointment for L2...once after you have H1 she can come to US on H4...
