L2 with valid visa/EAD while L1 is out of US

Hi, I m in L1A visa currently which is valid till Aug'16. I am applying for extension which I will get till Apr'17. My attorneys have told me that I have to go out of country for 1 year to process my GC in EB1 category. My wife is on L2 visa with valid EAD which will also be extended till Apr'17. I am planning to leave the country now to reset 1 year and come back to US by Feb'17. My question is whether my wife continue work here while I was out of country since my L1A status and my wife's L2/EAD status remain valid till Apr'17. Please advise.

Your L1 status is active only when you are in US. Your spouse cannot continue to be in US in L2 status while your are out for such a long time.
