L1B Application along with L2 for spouse and kids

Firstly thanks for keeping this forum active its real help.

I have L1b individual and L2 applications done at Mumbai consulate. Is it a good idea to apply for family together? I have read cases where the approval is done if applied together but i am little worried. How are the chances of approval at Mumbai ? I am pereparing for interview via this forum but can someone post any recent L1b individual experience at Mumbai.

Also for how many years visa is issued 1yr, 3 yrs or 5yrs? is there any basic approval of years ..
