Does L1 Visa rejection recorded on passport?

My company is giving me an option saying either they will proceed with L1B-blanket or H1 visa for me. I am much aware about H1 where if it does not get picked in lottery, there will be no stamp on passport. However, I would like to know if L1B got rejected during visa interview, Will visa officer put stamp of rejection on passport? I am just trying to avoid negative impression on my passport as rejection of L1B is higher and hence I am thinking to take a chance in H1B.

They do not mark in passport but they do have record in system. Any visa rejection has to be declared in subsequent visa applications.
