  • L1 Visa Extension Process

    Hi,
Apologies if this has already been previously answered in an old Post.
We are currently waiting on our L1/L2 extension to be approved (have been here 1 year).
Once it is approved, can someone tell me what happens next? Have googled a few sites but getting conflicting information.
Do we have to leave the US to get our new Visa Stamps in our passports once we have the new I-797B Notice?
And if so, do we have to go to our home country to do this (NZ)?
Do we have to make another appointment with the consulate for an interview and pay another fee?
Any "real" information would be greatly appreciated.
    Many thanks
    Lynne

If your I94 is not expiring, you can continue to stay with your new approved petition.

If you I94 is going to expire, you need to get it renewed within US only.

If you want to go out of USA, you'll need to get the new visa stamped before coming back to USA.
