Help: Travelling to USA with L1B individual VIsa after H1B lottery selection

Hi,

My employer X wants to file a L1B visa which will get approved in the month of June or May 2016. Another employer Y wants to apply H1B for me for this year.

My question:
1) Say if i get my L1B visa gets approved first and after that i get selected in lottery around May. Can i travel to USA with L1B visa even after getting selected in the H1B lottery ? A friend of mine says i can't travel.
Can you please share your thoughts ?

2) If the above is possible, can i convert my L1B to H1B while in USA ?

You are good to travel & stay in USA on any of these visas.

One can have job offer from multiple companies & hence multiple H1 visa application - however those applications doesn't bind the employee to work for all of these company.

Go for L1 & stay with your current company.
