Job title change on L1 visa

I have been in US on L1B visa since 2013. Recently my job role changed though I continue to work with the same group in the same location. It was a change from individual contributor to manager though I do not have people reporting to me. I will be filing for an L1B extension in 2016. Questions-
1. Is my job title change a problem for visa extension?
2. Are job changes within the company permitted for L1 visa purposes?
3. If yes, how similar do the job profiles have to be?

1. An promotion is never a problem on L1B.
2. I assume you mean the Role change (not Job change) - it is fine.
3. L1B is for specialized knowledge - since now you changed your role from individual contributor to manager (without managing anyone) it can be questioned. Instead of extension, can you have your L1B converted to L1A - it will be more beneficial for you.
