EAD expiration date depends on I94 expiry date of L1 Visa holder?

I have L1A visa which is valid till sep2017. I got I94 while entering the US only till 27July2016 as my passport was expiring. My wife has got I94 which is valid till Sep2017 (on her L2 visa). She has applied for EAD and got EAD till 27July2016. Can anyone confirm if EAD end date is dependent on I94 end date of L1 visa holder, not on L2 I94 end date?


I have renewed my passport now and planning to visit Canada/Mexico to get my I94 extended till my Visa end date.

Your wife's L2 visa & her every other document is dependent on your L1 visa. Get your passport renewed, come back with a new I94 & get her EAD renewed.
