re entry if companies L1 blanket petition expired.

Hi,

My companies L1 petition will be expiring next month. as per the attorney, if I travel out side USA after PED ( petition expire date ) re entry will not be allowed and i have to go through the fresh L1 visa process with new petition though my L1 visa and I-94 is valid till 2019 and if i am not traveling out side United states as per him, I can work till 2019 with out any issue.

so would like to know whether re retry is based on Petition expire date for L1 ?

any pointers will be really helpful.

I94 - You get a new I94 & its expiry date whenever you "enter" USA.
L1 visa - you need to have a valid visa each time you apply to "enter" USA.
Petition - if it is expired, get it renewed. If you have valid visa, you don't need to renew it. Just show your current valid visa with your renewed petition.

In short, you can re-enter on your existing valid visa & renewed petition. A new I94 will be issued when the entry is permitted to you.
