L1 Visa Questions

Hi all,

I'm hoping to get some advise please, i've browsed many internet pages now but can't find the answers i'm looking for.

My company are going to petition me for a visa in the coming months, I believe it to be an L1. Our head office is in the UK (where i'm employed) and we have a second office in the US (operating as an LLC).

I have 2 main questions really

My wife and i are really interested in setting up a business in the USA, can we do this under the L1 visa that i would be obtaining through my company?

Also we will buy a home in the USA but are also considering buying a 2nd home in the USA as an investment to rent out or buy, renovate and sell. Would we be allowed to buy a second home under the L1 visa?

No, you cannot do that. However once you get your GC, you can start your own business.

Yes, you can have multiple properties in your name in USA, but there are lots of legal complications you'll need to go through even for your first property.
