I-94 changes after passport reissue due to a name change
Hi,
My friend's passport (in US on L2-dependent visa) had only the given name and did not have a last name in it. As many people are having issues with EAD application due to lack of last name, she applied for a split of name at the Indian Consulate in SFO and got the passport reissued with a last name.
The query is whether her I-94 needs to be updated now, as it shows LNU as her last name. If a change is needed, may I know how to do that? Can she go to the SFO airport where she got the I-94 from, and get it updated from there?
To add to the confusion, her visa is having FNU as the first name and her given name in the passport (before reissue) as the last name. Is there any change needed in the VISA also, after this passport reissue? If so, may I know how to do that as well?
