Got L1B how to plan for GC application?

HI

I recently got my L1B and i am in USA now. Can someone help me with how to plan ahead for GC how soon should i apply and under what category. My plan is to change status to L1A in couple of years i have total 16 yrs of exp. Can i show that i got promoted and change my visa to L1A ? Can i change my visa to L1A without leaving US? Can anyone please help me with these details or any other information which can help me plan ahead in correct way in coming 3 yrs.

You need to first ask your employer if they willing to sponsor your GC and how soon.

Which category are they willing to do so in ? EB1/EB2/Eb3?
