NOC is really required for L2 Visa?

Hello Experts,

My spouse recently got L1B visa and We are to apply dependent L2 visa for me and for my kid. But, I am currently working in India and not sure my company offers any long leave for 6-12 months.

My spouse's employer has requested for NOC from my current employer to submit my L2 visa application. It is going to be tough for me if I ask for NOC for Visa purpose.

I have every proof that I am currently employed, I can produce proof of employment, Bank Statement and payslips too.

My question now is whether NOC is really required or do we have any alternative to this?

What would be your employment status with respect to the company while you in US? Are you planning to resign? Would you still be getting paid while in US?
