Hi all,
my company in UK would apply a petition for an L1B Visa and transfer me in the US branch for up to 2 years.
The companies are both branches (100% controlled from the same company in Italy) so it's not a problem.
We are also confident that we can easily demonstrate the specialized knowledge because, as a Technical Support Engineer, I have a knowledge of the equipment that we manufacture that is not yet present in the US Office and an't be found in the US market.
My company would like to keep me as UK employee (because we don't know yet how long I would stay there) and pay for me accomodation, travels and per day allowances.
My doubt are:
1) is there a risk of rejection due to the discrepancy with the prevailing wage fixed by FCL (that would be around the double of the conversion of my UK salary)?
2) in case the Visa would be issued, should I pay double taxes (UK & USA) if staying in US more than 183 days/year?
3) in case the Visa would be issued, having no income in the US (a part from allowances) can I setup SSN, bank account, telephone line etc?
