L1 visa for me and B2 visa for my dependents

Hi, I have L1 visa and will travel to US to do training for 3 months only and will be back home again. I will take my wife and my son with me and both of the have B1/B2 visa. My question, can they cone with me as tourists with B2 visa and I with L1 visa? Just for the 3 months and we will back home.
I already contact the US embassy here in my country by email and they reply to me that it is OK they can travel with me. I have this email. I appreciate your feedback please. Regards,
