Applying for L1 Visa || Internal Organization transfer

Hi,

I'm currently working as Senior Engineer and have been selected for an internal position within the organization but based in US branch office, this new role is for Principal Engineer. As per the hiring the manager based in US, I need to apply L1 visa for this internal transfer.

However, looking at the US Immigration website, I learnt that L1 visa is for "Managerial", "Executive", "Specialized Knowledge" category.

Can anyone of you please help me in understanding if my application falls under any of these categories.

P.S. Currently, I'm based out of Malaysia.

I believe you should apply for L1B. This is my personal suggestion, not from legal.
