Hi,
I'm an L1-B visa holder and have been in the US since Jan 2014. My current L1-B expires on 01/12/2017 (Jan 12th 2017). My I-94 expires on 07/22/2017 (July 22nd 2017). My company is planning to apply for an L1-B extension for me. I have a travel plan outside the US from Jan 20th 2017 till Feb 20th 2017. I came across an information that there's a rule that my L1-B extension cannot be applied before 6 months of my I-94 expiration. I would like to know if there's indeed any such rule. If that's the case what are my alternatives if I cannot cancel my travel in Jan?
Thanks in advance for the help.
