L1 visa COS to H1-B but want to continue on L1-B

Hi,

currently i am on L1-B working for company "ABC" and my partner is on L2.

This year (2016) i applied for H1-B through company "XYZ" and this company employer told me that he will be applying for COS ( L1B to H1B).

Luckily my H1-B got picked up in lottery and waiting for petition approval.

Questions:
1) i want continue on L1B for some months, so for this can i travel back to my home country in Sep last week and re-enter into USA after Oct 1st.
2) If Yes, what is the process to re-enter into USA ? ( my mean which document i should show at immigration ).
3) Can i apply for my L1B COS to h1B after some months ( may be in 2017 or 2018 ), in this case what is the process?

Please suggest. It is very important for me.

Note@: My H1-B emploer ( company XYZ ) applied for COS.

L1 visa COS to H1-B but want to continue on L1-B

1. Yes.
2. You should show your valid L1 visa and associated petition/I129.
3. You don't apply, a COS, your employer will file a LCA, I129. Only change is it will not have to go through lottery.
