L1b Visa extension - i94 - valid till 2018

Hello there ,

I have a query to experts regarding my L1b visa extension .

->My L1b Visa is expiring in March 2017
->My i94 is valid till July - 2018

Queries -
How soon can i apply for Visa .
Is it really required or recommended to apply Visa before March 2017 when my current visa is expiring
My company normally apply from Canada , so incase of denial , can i come back on my current visa and stay till 2018 as per my i94

Whats the validity date on your I797/i129?

You cannot enter on an I-94 one needs a valid visa to reach US port of Entry.
