L1B - Extension - RFE - Can we travel to India during this period?

My L1B visa Extension has received RFE, I have sent RFE response but still awaiting reply from USCIS. During this time can i travel back to India and come back if L1 Extn approves later? I know we can't return USA without valid VISA.

Whether my L1B Extn gets void if i travel now?, I have a personal situation to travel home, so checking if anybody has any idea?

primary holder u can not travel to India during extension, It gets auto rejected if you travel

dependent can travel but need visa to come again once u r case approved

Petition extension and stay extension are two different things. If one travels the petition may still get extended/approved based on its merits, but it may not come with a new I94, that is, stay has not been granted. In that case one can ask employer to ship the approved petition to ones location outside US, and use that to attend visa interview and once visa is granted, to enter the US.
