Last 6 months on L1A.Applying for EB1

Good Morning!

I am posting this on my friends behalf.

My friend is working with a reputed firm on L1A visa for the past few years. Her 7th Year of L1A completes in June 2017.
The company has agreed to file for green card in EB1 category.

Question:-

1) How soon can she apply for I140? Should her current L1A visa be valid for minimum of 6 months for I140 application?
2) With her Visa being valid for another 6 to 8 months, will she be able to get her EAD with in that time frame?
3) What are my best options here?
