L2 to H1B conversion

Hello everyone,

Me (L1B) and My wife (L2) came to US recently few months back. In the meantime my wife's H1B was being processed by her employed and is recently approved. My questions are:

1) Can my wife change from her L2 status to her already approved H1 status without going out US (for Visa stamping)?
2) If the above is not possible would her L2 visa be invalidated when she stamps the H1 Visa on her passport?
