L1 - Blanket : Can the base location be changed to the US

I hold an L1 - B VISA and working in the US for 2 years now. My base location is India. My company want to change my base location to US and change my status as permanent employee in the US.
Is this possible with L1 - B VISA? If not, what are the other options.
