L1B max out & H1B question

Hi All,

Presently I’ m with L1B Visa with approved I-140 & max out by June 2017, next year (April 2017) also my company planning to apply H1B Visa. If H1B Visa luckily picked which is effective from 1st Oct 2017, My question here is still I need to leave (4 months) USA & go stamping for H1B Visa? Does approved i-140 helps in any scenario.

Yes, you need to leave.
An approved I140 cannot be used to extend L1 or to stay in US.
