F1 to L2 Change of Status

Hi,

My husband is going to apply for L1 from India. I am in the US on F1 OPT
1. Can I apply for L2 change of status from the US. How soon can I do that and does my husband have to be physically present in the US?
2. Can I put a date on which the L2 has to be valid from?
3. Can I apply for EAD and L2 change of status at the same time?
4. How long would it take for the L2 change of status and the EAD to come through?
5. Can I apply for H1 in the meanwhile as well?

1. As soon as your husband is in US on L1.
2. Yes.
3. Yes.
4.3-4 Months if no RFE.
5. Yes, but you are going to confuse yourself and potentially conflict one COS with another.

Thanks for your reply. My husband is going to be traveling to the US only at the end of march/beginning of april. Does that mean I can only apply for change of status in March?

You can apply ahead of time by putting in a future date of the move in the I539, and you would move to L2 Status only after your husband reaches US on valid L1. Till then you would be in your current status and have to fulfill requirements of that.
