  • L1B interview answers assessment

    Hi all,

I will be having my consular interview soon for an L1B blanket visa, I would immensely appreciate if someone took the time to quickly go through some of my intended answers and tell me if they are good enough for this visa type.

    Proposed work in the US:
    • What kind of work will you do in the US?
I will provide on-site support and training to key customers in X city area and drive sales activities to obtain design wins with such customers.

    • What will you do in the US?
I will be working as a X (position in the US) focused on embedded linux applications.

    • Why do you need to travel to the US?
Customers require on-site support and training to accelerate their development, also sales activities need frequent technical support to secure design wins.

    • Why can that work be done from your home country?
      Same as above

    Specialisation
    • What is your specialisation?
X's (company) proprietary high-end embedded processors and modules.

    • What is your special skill set?
In-depth knowledge of X's proprietary modules and processors, linux, u-boot, c programming as well as X's proprietary development tools.

    • Why do you think it is special?
It can be obtained only through years of exposure and involvement in both the processor's development cycle and critical customer issues.

    • How did you gain expertise in these tools?
By solving critical customer issues as well as serve as the application expert on the development cycle of a processor.

    • Why is it necessary for you to go to the US for this work? why not someone else?
I've been instrumental in solving several customer issues and I am the only one in my team working with high-end processors.

    • Why can't your company's US team members do this work?
There are currently two people handling all of X(city name) customers and the workload is too high.

    • Why can't your client hire someone onshore and train them to work on the same?
It would take too long for that person to obtain the required knowledge to do the job

    Thanks!
