L1A to H1B transfer, is it good decision today in 2017?

Hello,

I am on L1-A as manager position. since i am on L1A i am underpaid if you compare to market.
I am planning to change to H1-B. Since all news going around H1-B salary and approvals.

Will it be good decision to change it to H1-B?

Please help me.

The H1 cap will open in April 2017, with an earliest start date of Oct 2017. If any changes to the laws they would most likely be notified prior to this year's cap. I dont think you should base your decision solely on the laws. If you are getting a good opportunity in a field of demand it would make sense to move, its a personal choice. As far as regulatory changes, I think both H1 as well as L1 would be looked at, if at all.
