  • L2 visa is maxing out. Can I apply for a H1B visa to continue working in the US?

I'm on a L2 dependant visa in the US. My spouse holds a L1A visa
I have been working in the US with a EAD.
I'm currently in the 7th year & my L2 visa is maxing out in July 2017

I plan to apply for a H1B visa this year so that I could continue to work in the US after my L2 Visa maxes out.

Could you please suggest if I could continue to work in the US if I get my H1B visa approved?
First of all is it possible to get my H1B visa initiated since I have already been in the US for the maximum allowed
period on a L2 dependant visa (which is 7 years)?

How long has your spouse completed in L1A status?
