L1B Blanket Got Rejected - What went wrong?

Hi,
I am a Product Manager
My L1B blanket got rejected on Feb 24 2017
I am not sure if it is my bad luck or I said something not fitting. Most likely it is the later.
My company is considering filing L1 Individual.
However, I am afraid that it might make the same mistake again.
I would like to understand what went wrong with my replies and how can i correct it. Please guide me

My interview questions and answers were

1. How long you are working for the company?
Answered: over 9 years

2. What will be your salary in US?
Answered: approx $ xxx K + benefits

3. What is your specialization?
Answered: I am product manager for xxxx. I am responsible for the product as well as business strategy
I am responsible to decide on the product roadmap what goes into the product and when based on my interactions with customers
And on business I am responsible for the product pricing, positioning of the product and launch of the product
I also influence overall business unit strategy

4. Are you going internal or work for a specific client?
Answered: I am moving internally within the company.. no specific client

5. Is it a platform or a tool?
Answered: It is product called xxxx. It does xxxxxx

5. Do you develop the product?
Answered:No. I oversee engineering team which develops the product

Your position is more suitable for L1A and not L1B.

This role fits perfectly for L1A not L1B

Every answer you provided point to your role as a Manager. You could have cleared it if your company filed it as L1A Blanket. L1B is specialized knowledge which only you have and no one else. The product should have designed and developed by you.

L1 A/B Individuals are comparatively easy to get stamped as those are already approved by USCIS. However, you need to prove that you are the right fit for the Visa category you applied for i.e. For L1A - you should be a Manager and not a technical person who manage a team and working on higher level of company's hierarchy. For L1B- you should be THE one who designed and developed the product and no one else has knowledge of it.
