appearing for L1 visa

what if VO asks what is your current salary? should I say rupees 20 lacs or should I convert it to dollars?
would he understand Lacs?

Do not convert to USD. Say what it is in INR. If asked about US salary, mention the USD one.

Most of the officers understand "lacs" as they interview hundreds everyday.
