  • L1B visa Canada

    Hi friends,

I am an Indian citizen living in Canada. I have just received the L1B approval notice from the USCIS through my attorney.

I have loads of questions to ask you all. I will be more than indebted if you all can help me with my questions now and in future.

1.) I'm married and I will be taking my husband with me to the US. No where in the approval notice they've stated my husband's name. Is it something that I will have to be worried about?
2.) If not, where and when will io have to include his name so that we will go to the consulate for the visa interview together?
3.) I will be filing my DS-160 in few days. Do my husband and I fill it together or file it separately (like 2 DS-160's)?
4.) What documents will be needed if my husband join me for the interview?

    1. No.
    2. When you schedule the appointment for the interview you can include his application too.
    3. Yes, one for each visa applicant, yours will be L1 and his will be L2 visa request, so 2 DS-160.
    4. Marriage certificate. And if a recent marriage, marriage photos.

This is my opinion not legal advice.

      Hi Raghvi,

Thank you for the reply. I have another question.

My husband and I are going to apply for L2 and L1 visa respectively from Canada (Mine on L1 and spouse as dependent). In 2016, my husband was refused entry into the US (even after having US visitor's visa) as per INA section 217 R39007. We are very worried if that will have an affect on the L visa approval now. Would that be a very serious thing for us to get a visa?

He was denied entry on VVP because they believed he was planning to live/work without authorization? It should not affect his L visa
