Hey everyone,
My spouse will receive her L1 visa (/L2 for me) a couple of months before coming to the US.
We’ve been told by the lawyer assisting the visa process that as L2, I couldn’t apply for EAD before she starts working. Due to EAD processing time (3-4 months) it means I will be unemployed for several months in the US before working.
Ideally I’d like to apply as soon as I get the L2 (ie abroad and before coming) so I can work from day 1.
I have found no reference of such condition nor case on the internet, hence I doubt what the lawyer told me (& also it is not a situation I am ready to accept so easily).
Have any of you been in that situation / know what the precise rules are?
Many thanks!
Best,
Rom
