Can I apply for L2 visa for my wife when my visa validity is less than 6 months

I am planning to apply L2 dependent Visa for my would be wife in Aug or Sep-2017. But my L1 visa is going to expire in Dec-2017. Can I go to India during August -2017, apply L2 visa for my would be wife, come back to US during October-2017 and then apply for L1 extension?

I doubt she would get an L2 with yours expiring within a few months of marriage.

Better to renew your L1 before and apply for your wife at the same time so both will have the same expiration date. There is a chance her entry to be denied. I saw that happening at POE with the CBP interview.
