L1 A Blanket & L2 Visa Extension

Hi,

Can anyone please help me with my below queries ?

1. I am in L1 A Blanket visa along with my family in L2 in USA. Our visa expiry is on Oct, 2017 but I have I94 till Mar 2020. Can I apply for L1 A Blanket extension now or do I need to wait till 2020 ?

2. My family I94 expiry is on Oct 2017. I will be in USA & my family may go to India by June 2017. With this situation, can I apply my extension from USA based the answer to above 1st query & whether my family can apply their L2 extension after going to India by June 2017 ?

3. What is the usual lead time to start applying for extension (ie 3 months/6 months) from visa expiry date ?

4. Should we consider visa expiry date / I94 expiry date for applying extension ?

5. After applying for my extension while I am in USA, can I travel back to India & settle their for 1 year even before my extension got approved from USCIS ? Or should I wait in USA till my extension approval ?
