L1 visa extension denied and new L1 petition

Hi,

I am in USA for 5 years on my L1A and my visa extension is denied now and I need to leave the country. Please let me know if It is mandatory to wait for 1 year to get initiated new L1A petition though I didn't complete 7 years.

No such restriction.But if applied in less than a year, you are eligible to get only 7 Years minus time already spent in L1 Status.
