Can I continue with my Indian employment on a L2 visa

Hi ,
I have received the L2 dependent spouse visa.
I currently work with a Mumbai based domestic financial services company and would want to know if I can continue working with the Indian employer out of US on an L2 visa after obtaining an EAD.
My employer has asked me to come back on the procedural clarity around that and would be ok to give me an option as long as it is allowed by law.
Would it be allowed by law? How will the salary and the taxation angle work here?
Would request for quick guidance and help on this.

With an EAD you can work for whomever you wish

You will be paying US income & payroll taxes on income from your employer abroad, however you will get a credit against your US income tax for the income taxes payed to foreign tax authorities
