  • Canadian citizen applying L1B visa

    Dear All,

im currently try to apply L1B visa to work in USA. (Im canadian citizen)

But i tried to search the info on internet and it all gives me lots of different answer, so i hope somebody can give me a guide for this.

since i plan to apply in US border which looks like much more easier, heres the info i found from U.S. Customs and Border Protection website.

    o Valid Canadian passport.

o I-129 visa petition filled out and signed by your employer

o Employment letter (must include time, payment and duty of your employment)

but i also found i still need below document also.

    Complete and signed Form DS-156 visa application;
Form I-797 Approval Notice issued by the USCIS when approving the petition
Online submitted Form DS-160 with CEAC barcode

can someone help me to verify what i really need to prepare when i crossing the US border?

    thanks!

I'm not sure where you saw the need for the latter 3 forms

      hello sir,

thanks for the feedback, for the latter 3 forms i found from below link.

http://greencardlawyers.com/workvisa...ling.html#What is required to apply for an L-1 visa, after the petition is approved

So do i really necessary to prepare it?

or i just simply prepare below 3 document when i crossing the board then i can get my L1B visa?

      o Valid Canadian passport.

o I-129 visa petition filled out and signed by your employer

o Employment letter (must include time, payment and duty of your employment)

Canadian citizens do not need visas to travel to the US. Therefore, you are not applying for a visa. You can travel to any US port of entry with the approved petition and seek entry into L1 status.

This is my personal opinion and is not to be construed as legal advice.
