L1A approved in London but online status showing 'Administrative Processing'

Hi All-

I have had an visa (L1A-Blanket) interview on Friday 19th May at US embassy in London and it was approved. VO asked me to to pay $4500/- and told me that i will receive my passport within 4-5 days.

When i checked the status on website CEAC today, it says 'ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESSING'-Your visa case is currently undergoing necessary administrative processing. This processing can take several weeks. Please follow any instructions provided by the Consular Officer at the time of your interview. If further information is needed, you will be contacted. If your visa application is approved, it will be processed and mailed/available within two business days.

Can someone please shed some light on this? is it common to have this status? What does it mean?

Can someone please shed some light on this? is it common to have this status? What does it mean?

There might two scenerio, one it was mistake in status update in their system or they might put your case really on administrative process. If its adminstrative process, then it might take some time to receive your passport . Chance it might get approved or denied also. Some case it might take 3 to 6 months also for this process .
