Folks,
Received approval for self (L1B), husband and kid (L2) this morning. Since I have been following this forum for past 1-2 days for the interview tips: thought its pay-back time.
Consulate: Tokyo, Japan
Total time taken: Standing on queue & security check -25 mins, fingerprint and document checks: 15 mins, payment of $500 : 5 mins with CC, Interview: 2 mins
Documents: Mandatory documents. No transcripts. My resume Kid's original BC, as we did not take her along and our marriage certificate
Interview Questions:
1) tenure with current employer...answered
2) Current role ...answered in two sentences
That's it...no further question either to me or to my husband
What worked in favor, I think:
1) Being from non-IT background (sorry folks!), easier to frame/prove specialized skills in the petition
Odds:
1) Have been with my current employer for little over one year
2) Under prepared for the interview. No mock interview, no practice session, barely had gone through the entire document set that was prepared by my employer
3) Indian passport holder: a perineal issue for obtaining work visa in U'SA :-)
But looks like none of that mattered..
I will be happy to answer if you have any specific question.
