Urgent - Filing L2 Visa for dependent wife separtly

Hi all ,

Iam on L1 blanket visa for 3 months and iam planning to file a dependent visa L2 for my wife without the company support with my own expenses because as per company policy they will file the dependent visa only if my stay is more than 6 months.so my query is can i file the dependent visa for my wife separately without the company support and the company did not give me the employer letter in which my relationship with the dependent should be stated so will the dependent visa be approved without the employer letter stating the relationship.I have all other docs mentioned.my wife will be staying only for 3 weeks.what type of questions she may get during the interview and at port of entry.My worry is if they reject the visa will there be any effect to my visa in future also & if they reject at port of entry it will be a problem for my wife.please help to answer my queries asap as she is taking the interview in few days

You don't need company sponsorship for your wife's visa.

Just let her bring your papers, like your I-129S, copy of your visa, your payslips of USA company etc.

One questions, did you got your visa before your marriage? Did you filled in your wife's name in spouse section, when you applied for your visa? If yes, you are good to go ahead without your company's sponsorship.

I got my visa after marriage, spouse name was mentioned in the petition but not added in passport however we are taking marriage certificate , wedding album which was mentioned in the docs list.one more query is i dont have any us salary account i was given a travel card as my stay is only for 3 months so is it okay if i submit the india payslips or should i provide them the travel card transactions?

Hi Kalyan,

You mentioned that 'company did not give me the employer letter in which my relationship with the dependent should be stated so will the dependent visa be approved without the employer letter stating the relationship'. If you are applying for L1B and L2 together (L2 dependent visa for spouse along with L1B) then does the company need to mention about this in the petition they send to USICS? Please advise what all needs to be done in this case?
