  • Timeline for L2 extension (Family alone)

I have initiated the L2 extension (Family alone) for my wife.
This is going to be filed separately (and not with my i129 extension as i had it extended separately).

In general, what is the timeline for I539 approval filed separately?
The form states it has to be sent to USCIS Dallas dropbox but there are no i539 processing times for it in the website.
I see that the Vermont processing times are more than 6 months (As per USICS website).
Can this be expedited by filing it California center which has processing time of 2 months?
Note my latest i129 was approved in Vermont center.

Not having the extended I94 (currently valid until Dec 2017) for my wife can result in having a gap in her EAD which will impact her employment here.
Kindly let me know if there are any options (other than travelling out of country for visa stamping) by which we can expedite her getting a new I94.

    Hi,

Can someone who recently filed for i539 extension (family alone) respond?
The application needs to be filed to the USCIS Texas center but for some reason, the USCIS processing times does not show i539 timelines for Texas.
Only Vermont and California center seems to have the processing timelines for i539.
Does this mean that the application will automatically get routed to one of these centers?

    Thanks

How much time was taken for getting your i129 extension approval? Were you able to get your L2 extension approval? What was the lead time for the same?
