  • L1 VISA query

    Hi,

I was in the USA for few years on L1B and returned to India after my VISA expiry. I had 2 open credit card accounts which I didn't close till now. In my recent business trip, visited the bank to close my credit card account as the credit card is expired. Banker suggested me to renew instead of closing the account as I would lose my credit history if I close it. I received a new card after the processing.

Does this impact my fresh L1A process as it shows as a new account opened in credit check during my business trip. I'm not sure if we are supposed to open/maintain accounts while we are staying outside of the USA.

    Thanks in advance.

Agreed on renewing the cards instead of closing them in order to retain credit history. As long as there are no fees associated it should be fine. This does not impact your L1a process.

This is my opinion not legal advice.
