Hello everyone, I have searched the forum threads but couldn't find a answer to the question I have (please forgive if there is one).
I have been offered a position with my companies American office and they are prepared to organise a L1 visa for me and my wife and one of my children (one is over 21yr old), however for personal reasons my wife and child would not be moving to America on permanent basis - staying in Australia. I can also in October apply for a E3 visa under the length of time 12 years specialist skills - not the 4yr degree requirement.
I believe the following is correct but obviously from the question trying to confirm;
Wife and dependent required to do the visa process - medicals, checks etc
If successful I can enter and theoretically my wife and child could enter at later date to activate - so my documents to hand to immigration on arrival are separate from theirs? If not when they enter what is the process and time limit for them to enter?
Visa only valid for 5yrs but can get one extension
As stated in October I can apply for a E3 visa under my circumstances of my wife and child only coming to America for short stays would I be better with the E3 visa option? Under this I have to show ties to country of origin and wife, children and house I think meets this requirement?
Finally on the E3 - does my wife and child still need to do the visa process? May help prove ties to Australia.
