  • L2 Visa for Government working spouse

    Friends
I got L1B Visa for my assignment in US based IT firm and my spouse working in Central government as Scientist. He wish to come with me and stay for 3 months and return back to work in India. He plans to continue the same twice in the coming years. Is there a way he gest L2 dependent Visa and maintain the L2 status ? please help to understand the complications.
All recommend to go by different visa category but we prefer to carry on with L2 visa as if my work with client goes well, he thinks to resign his job and join with me after some years.

Experienced guys, please help me with you inputs.

    Vidhya.

Thanks for your reply! Precisely, my question is can a Government employee apply for L2 Visa and is there any complications involved in doing the same?

That's fine. Unlike China for example, the United States does not have separate treatment for government employees, armed forces personnel, or journalists. However, they may ask her how she was able to obtain 3 months of leave.

Thanks Inadmissible! I believe NOC from his office during L2 VISA apply (apart from the one did for PP) may help..What do you think?
