  • L1A Individual VISA Extension Approved in USA. Best location to get stamped?

    hi Everyone,

Just got L1-A individual extension approved. My current status :

1 ) I have L1 visa stamped on my passport which is expiring in August 2021.

2 ) origional i-94 expired on August 8 2017. We had filed for extension well before in advance. ( Approval notice took around 45 days)

Do i need to get L1-visa re-stamped again for the new renewed L1 visa extension approval notice.. since my origional stamp already has been stamped with an expiration date of August 2021 ??

Also if I do need to get it stamped ? Do i need to travel back to India? or can i get stamping done lets say in Canada or Mexico?

    Please let me know.

Regards.. Thanks for such an amazing forum where all relevant parties discuss valuable information.

When did you file for the extension? How much time it took for the extension to get processed?

Filed the extension in USA. We filed around August 4th 2017 , got approved on Sep 8th 2017.

Our paperwork was on point with enough information. Our growth has been good also as a company since inception of 1st year.

All tax returns , employee payslips were all included during filing. We overdid the paperwork ( Better to be safe than sorry). Bank statements for full year showing revenue , any Press releases abt the company was also included. etc.

        - as long as you have an approval notice for L1 individual from US, you can apply from any country outside of US.

Which service center processed your extension? Was it filed in normal or premium processing?

Why do you need visa if you already have visa in passport till 2021? Also, I am not able to understand different dates for visa, I94, petition for your case.

USCIS has updated processing in their website today which shows that they are processing cases as of 1st Jul. Are they down playing their processing schedules?

I see in few others threads where people have got response from USCIS for the filing date between Mid Jul to early Aug 2017 for L1 visa. Not sure about real USCIS schedule status.

Used California Service Center. Used Normal processing.

The VISA was stamped till 2021 but the 1st year L1A was valid only for 1 year.
