Applying for L2 EAD (as a spouse) whilst on my E1

Good evening,

Hopefully a quick question with a simple answer: Can I:

- Travel into the US on my L2 visa;
- Apply for my EAD;
- Re-enter the US on my E1 visa (maybe 3 days later);
- Await L2 EAD;
- Once arrived, leave and re-enter on L2;
- Quit my job on E1?.

I ask as there are potential redundancies upcoming and want to be prepared for any outcome.

I dont think so. When USCIS is assessing your eligibility for L2 EAD they can always cross check that you are currently not in L2 status and may raise a RFE.
