J2 to L1 - Third Country National

Hello dear forum members, I hope I would get an answer for my question here.

Currently I hold J2 Visa, I am waiting for my L1 visa to be approved during the next few weeks, If everything goes well, can I transfer my J2 visa to L1 in Canada and not go back to my home country? is it even possible?

Pros, Cons - of doing it (if applicable) in Canada in not in my home country?
